Students registered in the School of Art’s winter session are invited to exhibit their work in our Annual Student Exhibition. The exhibition, which includes hundreds of works in a wide variety of media, gives students the experience of seeing their work in the context of a professional gallery. It also provides an opportunity for students and public to see the great diversity of creative activity that takes place at the Centre.

While Virginia McClure is well-known for her work both in ceramics and monotype, over the last several years she has returned to drawing the figure. The works, inspired by initial life-drawing sketches, are later imaginatively embellished with further drawing and painting. Using narrative elements as well as sensual backdrops, McClure’s ‘demoiselles’ are often presented in provocative and humourous positions or situations. This exhibition also celebrates the launch of the artist’s third book, The Yellow Painting, a memoir, published by the Visual Arts Centre.
We’re proud to launch our new virtual gallery to give students a chance to see work done by each member of our faculty. As it is still under development, not all teachers have yet submitted photographs.
