Our Teen Department has expanded, offering more exciting, relevant courses and programmes that reflect the cultural interests of today’s teens. In our professional studios, with a staff of practicing artists and art educators, teens will develop and enhance their creative skills while expanding their visual language, in a context that encourages individual expression and creative thinking. For older teens, we offer advanced courses based on adult curriculum, yet adapted to the interests of this age group. For those students looking towards a career in an arts related field, all our courses provide an excellent opportunity for portfolio development. We would like to thank the TD Bank Financial Group for their support of this department.

For students planning to pursue studies in Fine Arts, the teen portfolio programme provides one-on-one mentoring to help create a portfolio for advanced studies. Teens will be paired with experienced artists and teachers who will guide them in the process of developing a body of work, selecting artwork, laying out the portfolio, and writing an artist statement. Students can register for blocks of 3 or 6 sessions depending on their specific needs. While the programme can be taken on its own, it is recommended that students undertake the portfolio programme in conjunction with a regular semester course. Each session is 1.5 hours.
