An ongoing calligraphy studio class, where students at various levels focus on three of the most important calligraphic styles: Italic, Uncial and Foundational scripts. We will look at the basic tools, materials and techniques for each of these classic styles. Individual instruction, class demonstrations and the creation of a number of projects will allow the student to learn about letter and word spacing, the dynamics of composition, colour and gesture in calligraphy.
