The Visual Arts Centre's McClure Gallery features monthly exhibitions by contemporary artists working in the fine and applied arts as well as seminars and lectures on themes and issues relevant to the visual arts community. When funding is available, accompanying exhibition catalogues may also be published. While the gallery mostly serves the Montreal and Quebec visual arts community, presenting both established and emerging artists, it welcomes submissions from further afield.
We also welcome proposals from guest curators, through our Curatorial Venue Programme, introduced in 2003. The programme’s goal is to provide an opportunity for independent curators to present ideas, viewpoints and approaches for exhibitions that will continue to challenge and inform our public.
Annual deadline for submissions is December 15th for the following fall/winter/spring season.
Exhibitions are chosen by the gallery’s Selection Committee whose members are: Cynthia Dinsmore (Chair), Hedwidge Asselin, Anne Ashton, Renée Duval, Victoria LeBlanc, and JoAnn Meade and for 2010/11, invited guest Véronique Laperrière M.
